Antique Bear Paw Quilt

A mid- 19th Century patchwork quilt, hand pieced and hand quilted. The binding is hand applied, common for this era. The quilting is elaborately done in a mix of feathered wreaths, feathered vines and tiny double-wall circles. The red is pitted (eyelet effect), very common for  mid-1800s red prints. Overall sound and beautiful.

Freshly washed

Condition: Good. Freshly washed. One block is worn, showing split and loss. There is pitting to the original red fabric (eyelet effect) consistently, very common for mid-1800s red prints like this.

Weight: Thin, light weight
