1885 Cross Stitch Sampler

19th Century Cross Stitched Sampler 

Ca 1885, this sampler, hand stitched by Emilie Rigo is in fair condition. It boasts the full alphabet as well as the Roman Numerals, and the last line shows the date of 1885 in Roman Numerals MDCCCLXXXV = 1885. 

It is beautifully stitched and had maintained its integrity. There is significant yellowing due to the age and part of the hand crochet border is missing on the bottom right half and the right side from corner to corner.
