19th Century Album Quilt

A wonderful, soft, mid 1800s quilt with names inscribed by ink at the centers of the blocks. This is a wonderful composition (note the design of the sashing!). Some of the names are quite faded, others still legible which makes this a great piece for research and genealogy fun. There are some signs of wear, particularly along the border (front and back) and some scattered marks. The backing is a wonderful, chocolate plaid. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. The green areas are quilted with green thread.
