19th Century Antique Patchwork Quilt

A gorgeous quilt with crosses and on-point squares, pieced and quilted by hand somewhere around 1870-1890 or so. The colors are absolutely wonderful with many little scraps to note in madders and thrilling blues…The backing ices the cake, with a brown plaid border and grey, all-over floral main backing.

Freshly hand washed.

Condition: Some marks and stains remain after a careful soak and hand washing. A few areas of pinkish from dye transfer during soak (minor). There are also 2.5 small holes upon close inspection. Some of the fabrics are split from age but most are sound. Please review photos carefully. The binding is tight in most places and frayed in others.
