19th Century Pinwheel Rose Quilt
19th Century Pinwheel Rose Quilt
Rare pattern! This pinwheel flower just blew me away. It's hand pieced and hand quilted, and it is an impressive size. It has a wear and thinning throughout but remains sturdy and is extremely soft. What we see as tan surround was once purple, a fugitive dye that left us only a few clues as to its original, dark lilac shade. There is what looks to be a textile stamp on one corner of said material that is barely legible. On the back are some tiny metal hooks likely used to hang for display. There is a decorative pattern stained on the back. Likely that it was laid against something metal or wood in that trellis pattern that transferred to the quilt backing after time. This is a great quilt for collection or to lay atop a bed. I have not soaked it so as to preserve all fabrics.
Medium weight, large size! Very softened.
Measures 87 x 90
Please note that these are vintage and antique textiles, please read the descriptions carefully. I work hard to accurately describe and photograph any and all flaws. *All items are sold as is and all sales are final*
