19th Century Purple Evening Star Quilt

Gorgeous, Evening Star patchwork quilt with all purples intact and vibrant (so rare!). This quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted and in remarkable condition. It boasts gorgeous fabrics from the second half of the 19th century with some of the purples still showing their original sheen. The blocks measure 8.5 x 8.5 inches and it has a 2 inch border. The hand quilting is done in a double rod and the binding is a hand applied pink binding. The backing is a clean white cotton backing. 

Condition: Near mint. No signs of use. Small area of seam separation as shown in two tan star corners (very minor). Displays beautifully. Collector’s quality.

Weight: Medium, very soft

Measures 74 x 90 inches (great size)
