19th Century Star Quilt

A large, hand pieced and hand quilted early 19th century quilt. The stars themselves are pieced with lots of early fabrics including many block prints from the early 1800s. The sashing is done with an early cheater print (printed patchwork), one of the earliest I've seen,  but I'm unable to pinpoint the date of its production. 

A wonderful quilt for early fabric study!

Condition: Fragile due to age and dyes, many areas of split and damage, several chew holes as shown. Best for display and/or study purposes. Unwashed due to fragility.
