Stunning 19th Century String Star Quilt Top

A mint condition, hand stitched quilt top from the second half of the 19th century. This is a foundation pieced string pattern in a star motif. Since it is a top, it is wonderful to look at the back and view the hand stitching and foundation fabrics…one can really study the construction  of such a pattern when it is visible this way. The stars themselves are a beautiful array of period fabrics, tons of charming prints.
