Antique 19th Century Woolen Crib Quilt Hand Tied Touching Stars

A marvelous, rare, crib sized quilt in a mix of wools in different weights and weaves, and in jewel tones from the mid to late 1800s. This is a unique find, it is not often that we see woolen crib or bassinet sized quilts and in a pattern of stars. Perhaps it was made for a baby in a colder climate. It has a stunning, wide border (wrap around) of woven wool, possibly shawl material. The ties are wool yarn in multicolor. 

Condition: Fair. Due to age, exposure and storage there are old, little holes and chew marks scattered on the front and some tearing and fade to the print used on the back side. It has been thoroughly steam cleaned. 

Weight: Thin, light weight. Hangs straight and displays beautifully on a wall.
