Antique 8 Point Star Quilt

Antique 8 Point Star Quilt with Flying Geese Border, ca 1900. A well loved, beautifully hand pieced antique quilt. This has been fully soaked and given lots of TLC to remove extensive yellowing. It is freshly air dried and most of the toning has been removed with only a few residual areas remaining. The fabrics, while thinned, are some of the most lovely prints. There are several stars, about 11 out of 35, with fabric thinning and split. The border is in fair condition with a few split triangles here or there. The backing is a wonderful ca 1880s “Crop and Shoe” equestrian print in red and brown. It is good condition with some wear around the edge areas. This quilt cab be gently enjoyed as is, and would also make a worthy mending quilt. Just lovely overall.
