Antique Applique Whig Rose Quilt

Unique applique pattern! A mid-19th century applique quilt, completely hand stitched. This quilt is quite worn. The hand quilting is extra special, very densely stitched which creates an extraordinary texture and overall design. The binding is hand-applied white cotton. 

Freshly washed

Condition: Poor. Freshly Washed. Sound body but much wear and thinning to the applique fabric, particularly the green which is also lifting in some areas. The flowers are in good shape. Scattered marks remain after washing, a small area of grey paint on the red binding in one small section.

Weight: Light, summer weight
