Antique Cake Stand Quilt, 19th Cent

A stunning, collector's quality patchwork quilt with the quilter's penciled guide lines visible. Filled with delicious fabrics, hand pieced and quilted by hand on the diagonal. Everything from mourning prints and classic madder dyed prints to vibrant double pinks and shirting plaids. The backing is a striped, micro floral in red and black on cream. The binding is wrap around from backing. This is a beautiful, summer weight. Well stored, with a slight patina from age.
