Antique Crazy Quilt c1900

A fabulous, hand stitched crazy quilt in wools, tweed, and a little silk. Classic design in the late 19th century. This quilt, in a traditional “Crazy Quilt” style is complete with the classic hand embroidery to finish. It is unquilted, the foundation backing is visible (to our delight) and a black grosgrain ribbon has been added to finish the edges. From a private collection out of New York, this quilt has been well kept. 

Condition: Good. Only minor, tiny surface holes in a few places and two dark blue silk patches that have shredded. On the backing, some water marks and a few tears. This displays beautifully and makes a fantastic statement piece. 

Weight: Thin, no backing or batting. Drapey with a heavy edge.
