Antique Mathematical Star c1860

Collector/museum quality piece, mid 19th century in mint condition. Often referred to as the Star of Bethlehem, or more recently, the Lone Star. This quilt is expertly made with gorgeous, tiny hand quilting and a brilliant star that lies beautifully flat and perfect. The hand quilting is done in an outline within the boundaries of the star, in each diamond, and in a wreath motif in the white setting cloth. The quiltmaker shows off not only their skill at patchwork, but also with tiny, precise hand quilting.

Condition: Excellent, museum quality. Only thing to note is the drop out of the small blue stars in the center, as shown.

Weight: Thin, summer weight

Measures 80 x 82 inches

Please note that these are vintage and antique textiles, please read the descriptions carefully. I work hard to accurately describe and photograph any and all flaws.
