Antique Patchwork Quilt c1890

A wonderful patchwork quilt from the late 1800s. This is hand pieced and double  hand quilted, with a machine binding. The centers of the blocks are a fugitive dye that now remains tan and has thinned. Note the unusual zig zag sashing which gives this a great overall composition. Note the equestrian conversation print of shoe and crop. The backing is a stunning, deep green check. 

Condition: Fair. Some fading and thinning, a few marks.  Overall sound and sturdy. Well kept, out of a private collection. 

Weight: Light to medium.  Soft
