Antique Pheasants and Plum Tree Whole Cloth Chintz Quit

This chintz print is from a genre of Game Birds and Tree prints that were printed on tea, tan or medium brown backgrounds 1815 to 1835. This particular print, likely produced closer to the 1830s, used only two or three colors overall, printed on a tan ground, a method which historically used the block print method. There is a sort of stippled lattice in the ground as well which may indicate the use of roller printing with fine detail capabilities. The backing is a brown/tan pinwheel motif. 

Hand stitched seams/edges and hand quilted. 

Condition: Fair to good, for its age. Handle with care. This has passed from collector to collector, and does have signs of overall thinning in some surface splits here and there. General fading and some scattered marks. 

Knife edge, all hand stitched.
