Antique Pink and White Bear Paw Quilt Patchwork c1890

A classic double pink calico and white cotton quilt pieced and quilted by hand in the late 19th century. This is a classic, sought-after pattern and this quilt boasts some quirky elements. There are six paws which have their outer half triangles (the bear claws, if you will) set incorrectly which creates a trapezoid where a neat corner square should be. Intentional or accidental?? A great quilt all around. 

Condition: Good. Some fading and thinning to the pink outer border. A spot of wear to the binding in one spot as shown. Some very pale scattered marks. The back is white with some residual marks. 

Weight: Thin batting, medium weight, drapes beautifully. 

Measures: 63 x 78 inches
