Antique Red and White Lone Star Quilted Coverlet c1900

A hand stitched Lone Star quilt in turkey red. The star is hand pieced and then hand stitched to the cream cotton backing. It is hand quilted, with squares in the corners of the white setting cloth. It has an applied binding, machine stitched, in red. At the foot of the coverlet, original to the design, is a narrow drop-down panel to accommodate bed posts. The panel is also bound in red. This panel can be tucked under as a display option.

Freshly washed by hand

Condition: Good, freshly hand soaked and air dried. Some general, residual patina remains giving it a great primitive look.

Weight: Thin, summer weight coverlet, no batting

Measures 71 x 71 inches
