Antique Redwork Quilt, 1890

Hand stitched redwork album, or friendship quilt dated 1880. Each block is different, with initials embroidered into almost all of them. Motifs vary from full profile portraits to flora and fauna depictions. Unique red sashing covers the seams where the blocks are joined. It is hand quilted in a single rod and has an applied binding in red. 

Condition: Excellent. Some small irrelevant scattered marks. One small area of binding is missing, about an inch or two.
