Antique Sawtooth Quilt

Hand stitched and hand quilted, this 19th century quilt is constructed of madder dyed cottons. It boasts a large square on point at the center with corner pieces and a narrow border all with sawtooth edges. The hand quilting is done in a quad-chain in the brown setting cloth. It has a matching, madder red, hand applied binding and a brown cotton backing.

Condition: Freshly washed (hand soaked and air dried). Please note: Some residual marks remain after washing, this is from dye migration into the light brown from poor storage. There is some fade at the center of the red square.
