Antique Schoolhouse Quilt c1920

A classic, highly sought after pattern of schoolhouse blocks in red and white. The white is an off-white, and more so due to age and use. The houses are hand pieced and then set by machine. The entire piece is hand quilted with a hand applied binding and a white cotton backing. The quilting is done in doppler style circles between the schoolhouses and the border is quilted in diagonals along the edge.

Condition: Good. Two and half houses are faded from sun exposure. There is one small tear as shown and a few small yellow marks and general patina from age and use. Displays well.

Weight: Medium to light weight. Soft.
