Antique String Quilt c1900

This late 19th or very early 20th century quilt is done in a string style, with scraps of fabric stitched to a foundation cloth on the diagonal and trimmed to square. It has tons of great calicoes, including beautiful indigos and pops of red. The back is a home dyed, feed sack cloth backing with mends to the sack cloth for use in the quilt.

Freshly washed by hand, air dried

Condition: Fair to poor, some toning and high fade to the backing, several lost strips within the front revealing prints of the foundation cloth beneath. See photos for wear and tear.
