Antique Tree of Life Quilt Top Coverlet , ca 1890

The edges are turned and finished by hand, making this more of a coverlet than a quilt top but there is no backing. The scalloped fan edging on this quilt top is the icing on the cake, where stunning indigos and 19th century calicos already shine! It's completely hand pieced and in excellent condition with a small water stain (about 2 x 3 inches blotch) on the right edge. This is a gorgeous top, to be used as is, as a coverlet or to be finished and quilted!
