Antique Unfinished Foundation Pieced Quilt Top c1900

This is the top of an unfinished quilt, constructed using a foundation piecing method and a plethora of late 19th century scraps. It is a wonderfully unique and quirky piece with great intention put into each block design. It was once a hand tied quilt, but has since been deconstructed. Some small red wool ties remain. 

The backing, the foundation sections, are made with clothing and other scraps. Original clothing patches and mends are evident. 

Condition: Fair. 8 to 12 thinned/lost surface scraps within the blocks and border sections. Some old hand tied remain. The edges are frayed where they were once turned under.
