Antique & White Papercut Quilt c1900

Hand stitched and hand quilted, circa 1900. The quilting is done in a spiderweb pattern over the applique with a chain on the sashing and some additional crosshatch. The edges are a foldover binding from front to back. Papercut refers to the technique of folding a piece of paper and cutting it into shape (Like a paper snowflake) to trace for the fabric pattern, also known as scherenschnitte. 

Condition: Fair to good. Some general signs of wear and some scattered marks. 

Weight: Medium, very soft

Measures 61 x 63.5 inches
