Antique Woven Woolsey Blanket

Home Woven Woolsey Blanket. A gorgeous, early cream and navy blue woolen, woven blanket. The large blanket is comprised of two panels joined at the center (the loom is only so wide, the weaver would need two panel to form a large piece enough for a blanket or coverlet). Typical of textiles of this age and nature, there are some scattered holes. There are, on this particular piece, a few carefully mended areas. The two largest mends are patch style, utilizing a smaller cream, woven scrap to patch and attached by machine stitch. There are also one or two needle woven mends. Over all it is a large and wonderful early, primitive wool blanket.
