Bear Paw Antique Quilt ca 1900

A wonderful, antique patchwork quilt in a Bear Paw block pattern. This is hand pieced and hand quilted. The fabrics are really wonderful, this a very soft and pretty quilt. The artist had a great eye for color and pattern combinations. Note the charming corner squares in the sashing. The backing is a rich, warm yellow tone. Possibly home dyed sack cloth. There are some scattered marks and general signs of age. Washing not recommended, to preserve some of the older fabrics.
