Blue Antique Ohio Star Quilt c1900

A gorgeous quilt for blue lovers! Set in a deep blue and white geometric print, the star blocks are composed of various shirtings, from plaids and checks to floral indigos and whites. It is machine pieced and hand quilted in a wide, horizontal double line pattern,  with diagonals along the border edge. While the fabrics all closely match, it is possible that blocks were pieced earlier while the setting and quilting were done later in the century. The backing is soft, woven, dark blue and white check cotton. Likely never used, or only brought out “on Sundays”, the quilt shows no signs of wear and is in perfect shape.
