Egyptian Revival Applique Panel, ca 1925
Egyptian Revival Applique Panel, ca 1925
Egyptian Revival Applique Panel. While it does show significant signs of wear, it's fairly rare to find one of these linen panels appliqued by hand in a motif popular during the Egyptian Revival period of the 1920s and early 30s.
This is a linen panel with cotton applique, stitched by hand and then bound along the edges. It has some fabric loss, lost stitches and fraying to the edges in places. The backing is a white 2-part panel attached by hand stitched, coming loose here and there. The frieze depicts a figure drawing water beside a tree.
Measures 16 x 16 inches
Please note that these are vintage and antique textiles, please read the descriptions carefully as no piece is perfect due to aging. I work hard to accurately describe and photograph any and all flaws. *All items are sold as is and all sales are final*
