Four Patch on Point Quilt c1880

Light and soft, this drapey, cotton, antique quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted. A unique pattern, the colors are vibrant and delicious. It has a foldover binding from front to back and the thinnest, softest batting in a “barely-there” loft inside. The hand quilting is done in a mix of outline and crosshatch. The backing is a wonderful, late 19th century purple floral.

Condition: Excellent. Some loss of color to the yellow in a few areas ( a reaction to a solvent at some point) and a thinned area on the backing (center, back).
