Hand Tied Star Quilt

Mint condition, hand tied, wool and cotton stuffed quilt. The 19th century star blocks are hand pieced and then set by machine into the fabulous checked sashing. The hand ties are a nice weight cotton and the edges are finished by knife edge with a hand embroidered chain stitch all the way around. There are very few age related dots and no signs of use or wear whatsoever. The fabrics used for the stars are circa 1880/1890 and include some equestrian sporting prints, florals and other shirting prints. The backing matches the sashing and is in excellent condition as well. 

Medium to heavy weight with a bit of soft puff to it.
