Hexagon Flower Quilt

A labor of loves… this quilt is built on an original, 19th Century Hexagon Quilt that was in disrepair. Someone did a tremendous rehab job on it (seems to have done in the 90's). They mended many lost hexies, and reinforced the original cotton batting in some places (with a newer synthetic). Then a border and new backing was carefully added, and finally the whole quilt was requilted in the original pattern. The person took great efforts to restore this quilt while honoring the original design. It is now large enough to lay across a queen sized bed. There are still areas of loss with battings showing in places (see photos) but overall it's a beautiful quilt which displays well.
