Patchwork Quilt c1900

Freshly washed by hand, this patchwork quilt from circa 1900 has a secret. The quiltmaker used an earlier quilt (likely mid 1800s) as batting for the inside of this piece. So this is two quilts in one! The outer layer is a very soft mix of shirting, wovens (some that look like home wovens) and other soft cottons. The backing is feed sack cloth with original logos still visible in places. Tennessee fans take note! 

Condition: Well-worn, several seam separations and some small tears. The backing is marked and mended in places. This has been hand soaked and air dried.
