Poppy Applique Quilt c1950

A wonderful vintage kit quilt expertly executed and rarely (if ever) used. It is completely hand stitched except for the left and right border sections (white) that were attached by machine stitching. The flowers are bright and cheerful, applied by hand, and the polka dots along the border are a charming addition. The quilting is beautifully done, according to the pattern, in feathered wreaths and vines as well as single rod. It has a bright red, hand applied binding.

Condition: Excellent, near mint. Some very pale toning in a few areas which does little to detract from the beauty of the quilt.

Measures 74 x 91 inches (great size)
