Stunning Antique New York Beauty Quilt c1860

Rare find! This gorgeous quilt is pieced by hand in a New York Beauty pattern, a sought-after design and done so well here, the iconic design characterized by spiked quarter circles, often resembling the crown of the Statue of Liberty.

It is circa 1860 to 1870 and makes a stunning addition to any collection. This quilt is choc full of gorgeous prints and dyes, from pinks and browns to pops of chrome orange. It is beautifully hand quilted, double quilted in most areas, in a unique and intentional pattern, with care given to the layout and details. It is never used and has been kept in a private collection. 

Condition: Excellent. Overall patina from age and storage, a yellowed cream. Some small scattered marks.
