Stunning Antique Pineapple Log Cabin Quilt, ca 1880. A fabulous collector's piece, this hand pieced and hand quilted log cabin is laid out in a pattern referred to as “pineapple”. It is in amazing condition for its age, with only a few small strips of fabric loss and some dots of pine resin on the lower center. It is completely full of every kind of fabric, from tiny conversation prints to French florals, to rich madder browns. The center “hearths” are vibrant red, often framed in a brilliant green. There is no end to the perfect points and delicious prints in this antique quilt. Well stored, never wetted.
