Stunning Red White & Blue Antique Star Quilt, ca 1900. Absolutely gorgeous, “Octagon Star” pattern quilt with a 8 point star in varying indigos with turkey red. Completely hand pieced and hand quilted. Notice the wonderful block design and construction. The binding is a woven stripe and the backing is plain sack cloth. It is very densely hand quilted in utilitarian diagonals, giving it a wonderful texture and bounce. This is clean, well kept and barely (if ever) used. The only damage is a slight fade along the upper third (see photo). A wonderful piece for collection.
