Sunflower Quilt

Quilt in a Quilt! This is an antique, 19th century quilt top which has been finished sometime in the later 20th century by using a beautiful, white, hand quilted quilt in the inside as batting. The top is hand pieced in a sunflower block, centers and outer rings pieced in the round. It has a backing like an old blended sheet (tan & white all-over floral) from the 1980s and the whole thing has been bound (sepia floral) and quilted by machine in a repeating X pattern. There are various mends and thinning to the sunflowers along with some bleach spots but overall it is sturdy and makes a great bed quilt. Peeks of the older quilt inside appear here and there through the flower centers. This has been washed recently and works well on a bed.
