Treasured Antique Hexagon Quilt

Oh what a dream… perfectly worn, fully broken in and made with the most stunning fabric scraps. From florals to stripes to Chinoiserie birds in blue, this antique quilt is swoonworthy. It is a hand pieced, Hexagon Quilt, tacked at the center of each hexagon flower center. It is not quilted, but hand tacked, with no batting although the varying fabric weights and textures give it some weight. There are tons of French fabrics. Some tiny holes here and there on the hexagons, but most of the wear is to the edges where it has been worn through. It is machine stitched knife edge. Everything from chintzes to linens to ticking scraps used, the most unique detial being the numerical fabric stamps the quilter incorporated into the design from fabric remnants. A truly lovely and rare piece.
