Antique Improvisational Quilt Top

 A hand pieced quilt top in a mix of patchwork and applique, constructed of seven different block types; Log Cabin, Basket, Pinwheel, Carpenter Star, applique Rose (A), stuffed work applique Rose (B), and a large, wonderful applique Oak Reel at the very center. Many of the blocks date to the mid-1800s with others from later in the century. This quilt top is considered multigenerational but is believed to have been completed in the 19th century judging by the hand stitching and joining. 

Condition: Good. Some scattered marks from age and storage. No fabric loss.

Measures 77 x 87 inches
