Vintage Log Cabin Quilt, ca 1930

Vintage Log Cabin Quilt, ca 1930. Wow! What a fabulous quilt with fabulous backing. This is a beautifully scrappy use-quilt which employs fabrics from the late 1800s all the way through the 1930s. From shirting, to back cloth, to feed sack cloth there is a little bit of “everything”. There are several small hand mends (about 3 total) and a few minor splits to the sashing, mostly at the edge. It is quilted in a utility arc with a heavy, blue thread. The back!! The back is a beautiful country cottage rose tiole 2.5 panels joined by machine and hand in an elementary way. Binding is done by toile wrap around. Over all good condition. 

Freshly soaked and air dried.
